2025 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

Performance

The 2025 Corvette ZR1 is powered by the LT7 – a dual-overhead–camshaft 5.5-liter V8 engine with twin turbochargers and a high rev ceiling. It puts down 1,064 horsepower at 7,000 RPM and 828 pound-feet of torque at 6,000 RPM.  These are numbers that have never been achieved in a Chevrolet engine ever. With General Motors President Mark Reuss behind the wheel, the 2025 ZR1 hit a top speed of 233 MPH.

Exterior

The move to a mid-engine layout for the Corvette brought new opportunities from a styling and design standpoint. Chevrolet morphed the 2025 Corvette’s long, sleek body into a new, equally impressive shape that features a low hood and muscular rear end to house the roaring V8 powertrains.  

The 2025 ZR1 features widebody designs with gaping air intakes and beefy rear fenders. Carbon-fiber wheels are a part of the 2025 ZR1’s performance package. Purposeful carbon fiber aero package creates over 1,200 pounds of downforce at top speed. That includes carbon fiber side profile air ducts funneling clean, cool air through its ducts, which are seamlessly integrated into the signature wishbone bezel behind the cabin doors to cool the rear brakes through an intricately designed system that doesn’t impact rear wheel travel. 

In the rear, there is a flow-through hood where air enters the front grille, flows through the intercooler heat exchanger, and exits the hood to increase front downforce and cool charged air temperatures. Unique fresh air intake ducts, which are carbon fiber inlets located on top of the coupe rear hatch, ingest air to cool the turbo compressor inlet air temperatures. In addition, the 2025 ZR1 revives one of the most iconic styles in Corvette history: the split rear window. 

Adding the ZTK package gives you an aggressive, high-downforce rear wing, front dive planes, and a tall hood Gurney lip – all constructed from woven carbon fiber. Underneath, underbody strakes replace the standard front underwing stall Gurney to increase front downforce. The suspension tuning included in the ZTK package incorporates stiffer springs and adds Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires.  

Interior

The 2025 Corvette ZR1 retained its iconic two-seat layout with the move to mid-engine, and its interior is easily one of the nicest in Chevrolet’s lineup. A unique flat top/bottom steering wheel highlights the tech-packed cabin, which offers two deep, heavily bolstered sport seats. Chevrolet offers a range of color options. The large plank of buttons remains mounted between the driver and passenger, and all controls and buttons are canted toward the driver for a more focused experience.   

Technology

The 2025 Corvette ZR1 is equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen and a 12-inch digital gauge cluster as standard equipment. The system brings wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Bluetooth, SiriusXM radio, HD radio, ten speakers, and more. Higher trims add navigation, wireless phone charging, and an upgraded 14-speaker stereo.  

The infotainment screen is a responsive unit with bright, crisp graphics. Snappy operation aside, Chevrolet’s infotainment software is intuitive and quick to use, making driving less distracting.

Safety and Driver Assistance

Neither the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) nor the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) have tested the 2025 Corvette ZR1 yet, either due to its newness on the market or because the costs associated with crashing sports cars are too great. It comes standard with a rear parking assistance system, and Chevrolet offers a range of advanced driver aids, including blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts, a head-up display, forward collision warnings, automatic emergency braking, a surround-view camera system, and more.
